The India- Guyana Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) hosted its first cocktail and mixer event at the Guyana Marriott Hotel on Wednesday 7th February 2024. This event marked a celebration of the partnerships between India and Guyana, honoring the IGCC 2023 members, while facilitating an opportunity for new members to network and socialize, with the goal of enhancing awareness about the IGCC among prospective members and the broader business communities of both Guyana and India. Membership certificates were distributed, and IGCC badges were shared with attendees during this event.
Government officials present at the function were Hon. Dr. Ashni Singh, Senior Minister within the Officer of the President with Responsibility for Finance and Public Service, Hon. Hugh Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Hon. Oneidge Walrond, Minister of Tourism Industry and Commerce. Also, in attendance Dr. Peter Ramsaroop Chief Executive Officer Guyana Office for Investment.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Todd, emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering private sector growth through investment-friendly policies and frameworks. In the absence of President Dr. Irfaan Ali, Todd highlighted the government’s readiness to facilitate cross-border business engagements by implementing supportive systems and structures.
The IGCC currently has 16 members and is processing new membership applications.
